At Freerange Theatre Company we believe that all people, regardless of age, race, gender, financial status or geographical location share the same entitlement to the benefits of the arts.




Freerange Theatre Company has its home in Lancaster (UK) and its roots in small scale rural touring, with an audience largely living in Lancashire and South Cumbria.

Over the last five years we have,
  • Delivered high quality repertory style theatre to rural audiences.
  • Produced workshops for schools, universities and community groups.
  • Produced ‘organic’ theatre, theatre that has been created by the community.
  • Created regional employment opportunities and,
  • Created work experience opportunities for students of the arts.
  • Won 'Best Drama Production' (Oleanna) and 'Best Actor' (Hugo Chandor) at Buxton Fringe Festival 2006


Founded in 2001 by Wren Chapman and Hugo Chandor, Freerange is a registered not for profit company.
