Who are we

At Freerange we believe that all people, regardless of age, race, gender, financial status or geographical location share the same entitlement to the benefits of the arts.

Morecambe based Freerange was founded in 2001 by Hugo and Wren . Rooted in small scale rural touring our audience is mainly in the North West of England. In 2007 Wren left the company. Her legacy included performances in Absence, At Home with the Pooters and as Spoonface in Spoonface Steinberg. Wren also produced and directed Tin Can Lurky, part of the 3 year long Wheels of Change project. Freerange is currently increasing its profile with a national tour planned in 2009 of Maureen O’Briens The Cutting.

Freerange:

  • delivers high quality repertory style theatre to rural audiences
  • produces workshops for schools, universities and community groups
  • produces ‘organic’ theatre, (theatre that has been created by the community)
  • creates regional employment opportunities
  • creates work experience opportunities for students of the arts.
